D. J. Whittingon started making Whittington's Jerky in 1962 or 1963 (and don't get him started). Our family was amazed at the consumer acceptance and overwhelming demand for more. At the time we were operating a locker plant and had a full line of products such as hams, bacon, sausage, and custom processing. All of these were a story in themselves, but the one product we became known for was our Jerky. So in 1999 we sold the locker and decided to simplify our lives and build a new facility for jerky only.

Through the years we have heard countless stories from people around the globe about having some friend or family member sending them a package of Whittington's Jerky and wanting to know how they can get their own jerky connection.

Sam and Susan Whittington carry on the tradition started by D.J. As second generation jerky manufacturers, Sam and Susan have expanded the line to include eight wonderful recipes including their new ALL Natural Pork and Beef Jerky.
